Midtown Educational Foundation, through its Midtown Center for boys and Metro Achievement Center for girls, helps close the achievement gap for Chicago’s urban youth ages eight through eighteen. MEF integrates academics, virtues, and exposure to the world of opportunity beyond the classroom for each child it serves. Programs engage parents and adult mentors in developing
students of strong character with a desire for academic excellence, a college education, and service to others.
ü In FY11, 84% of the graduating 8th grade class achieved college prep high school enrollment.
ü During the past five years MEF program enrollment has grown by 32 percent serving 1,101 students in its academic year
and summertime programs.
ü Since the year 2000, 100% of MEF seniors have achieved high school graduation and college enrollment. A majority were the first in their families to do so.I would personally like to ask you to continue, or begin, your support of MEF by participating in MEF's 19th Golf Outing. Your support will help assure that the Midtown/Metro programs help make thousands of inner-city kids better people and better citizens.
